BNP to Form Government by February 15, Says Mirza Fakhrul
Dhaka, February 13, 2026 – Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has announced that the party will form the new government by February 15. Speaking at his residence in Thakurgaon on Friday, Fakhrul said, “The government will be formed by February 15. BNP will enter Parliament with all allied parties.”
BNP Claims Mandate Amid Rising Extremism
Fakhrul emphasized BNP’s role as a party of the people, asserting that extremist forces have gained ground in the country due to the influence of “fascist powers.”

He further stated that the party will gradually implement the issues outlined in the July National Charter, along with the BNP’s electoral manifesto and the 31-point program. Fakhrul described BNP’s overwhelming victory as a clear reflection of the people’s support and affection for the party.
