Voters Can Check Polling Details via App
Dhaka: In a major digital initiative ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election, the Election Commission (EC) has launched a mobile application that allows voters to access their polling center details and voting information from home.
The app, named Smart Election Management BD, enables voters to check their polling station name, exact location, booth details, and voting serial number using their National Identity Card (NID) information. The move aims to reduce voter hassle and strengthen transparency in the electoral process.
According to Md Ruhul Amin Mallik, Director of the EC’s Public Relations Department, the application is designed to address long-standing voter difficulties. The app is now available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Using the app, voters can view the geo-location of their polling center, photos of the location, distance from their current position, and turn-by-turn navigation through integrated maps. By checking their voting serial number in advance, voters can also minimize waiting time and crowding at polling stations.
Beyond polling information, the app offers access to candidates’ affidavits, including details on educational background, assets, and liabilities. On election day, users will be able to follow live vote-counting updates and seat-wise election results directly within the app.
The platform also provides comprehensive information on registered political parties, making it a one-stop digital resource for voters during the election period.
To use the app, smartphone users need to download Smart Election Management BD, open it, and enter their date of birth along with their voter ID number. The app will then display the voter’s polling center name, address, and personal voting serial number instantly.
