RUET Admission Test on January 23; BUET to Host Additional Centre for First Time
Rajshahi: The Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) will hold its undergraduate admission test for the 2025–26 academic session on January 23, using a common question paper across two centres—RUET and, for the first time, the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
The decision was finalized during RUET’s 154th (Emergency) Academic Council meeting, presided over by Vice-Chancellor Professor SM Abdur Razzak.
This year’s exam will follow the MCQ format. Around 19,000 candidates are expected to sit for the test, competing for over 1,200 seats at RUET.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must have passed SSC or equivalent examinations in 2022 or 2023 under any general, madrasa, or technical education board in Bangladesh with a minimum GPA of 4.00. They must also have passed HSC or equivalent examinations in 2025 with a GPA of 5.00, and must secure at least a combined GP of 14 in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
Candidates with GCE qualifications must have at least grade ‘B’ in five subjects at O Level and separate ‘B’ grades in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry at A Level. The A Level certificate must be issued on or after November 2024.
RUET noted that any further decisions regarding the admission process will be taken by the Steering Committee formed for conducting the test.
