Post-Jumu'ah Rally Announced Demanding Ban on Awami League

The Anti-Discrimination Student-led party, NCP, has announced a large public gathering for Friday after Jumu'ah prayers, demanding a ban on the Awami League.
The announcement was made by Hasnat Abdullah, the chief organizer for the southern region of the National Citizens' Party (NCP), during an ongoing protest in front of Jamuna Tower.
According to Abdullah, the rally will take place near the fountain on the east side of Jamuna, where preparations for a stage have already begun.
"After Jumu'ah, the area will turn into a sea of people. Today they will see who truly wants the Awami League to be banned," he declared during a morning press briefing at around 8:30 AM.
The protest and rally are being organized under the banner of anti-fascist resistance and are expected to include participants from a wide range of backgrounds, including political parties, cultural organizations, families of enforced disappearance victims, BDRA families, and other groups that have claimed to face persecution over the last fifteen years.
Abdullah called for nationwide participation, urging citizens to gather in the same spirit as seen during the mass mobilizations on August 5 and in July.
“The entire road from the fountain to the Intercontinental Hotel, stretching up to Bangla Motor, will be filled with people,” he said.
NCP's chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari also addressed the media, stating that students and youth would take position at the fountain after Jumu'ah and that the day's events would determine public consensus on whether the Awami League should be banned.
“We will not leave the streets until the fascist, genocidal Awami League is officially declared a terrorist organization, its registration is revoked, and a clear roadmap for its trial is presented,” he added.
The sit-in demonstration in front of Jamuna is expected to continue until the Friday congregational prayer.
