People across the country, including the capital Dhaka, have been suffering from continuous spells of sweltering heat for several days.
However, some relief has been felt since the beginning of the rainy season.
In some places, light drizzles have eased the heat, while in others, heavy downpours have brought more significant relief. The rain started lightly on Monday (June 16) and increased by Tuesday morning.
Although the rain has reduced the heat, it has caused difficulties for city dwellers, especially those commuting to work. Besides Dhaka, various regions of the country have also experienced rainfall.
The Meteorological Department has said that rain may continue for another two to three days. Day and night temperatures across the country are expected to drop slightly. The rainfall trend may persist even after five days.
