Ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election, the Election Commission (EC) has temporarily suspended all National Identity Card (NID) correction services.
According to EC sources, the suspension took effect on Monday (24 November) at 4 pm.
Md Saiful Islam, Director (Operations) of the National Identity Registration Wing, informed the media that NID correction services will remain unavailable until further notice. He added that the services will resume as soon as the situation returns to normal.
EC officials stated that the voter list has already been finalized and the printing process is now underway. To maintain accuracy and transparency in this crucial pre-election phase, the commission has deemed it necessary to temporarily halt all NID correction activities.
