Government offices across the country have reopened today (Sunday) after a 10-day holiday marking the celebration of Eid-ul-Azha.
On the final day of the holiday, large crowds of Dhaka-bound passengers were seen at Kamalapur Railway Station and various bus terminals, as people returned to the capital.
Eid-ul-Azha, the second-largest religious festival for Muslims, was celebrated in Bangladesh on June 7. In view of the holiday, June 4 was the last working day for government officials and employees. The same applied to media professionals, as most news organizations also observed the break from that day.
According to the decision by the Newspaper Owners' Association of Bangladesh (NOAB), the Eid holiday for media outlets ended on June 9. Meanwhile, government employees were on leave until June 14, as per the official schedule.
