DHAKA, November 1, 2026 — A Dhaka magistrate court on Sunday granted a four-day remand for a 19-year-old woman, Jerika Tasnim Disha, in connection with the murder case of former Bangladesh Air Force Flight Lieutenant KM Tahsif Sauri (28).
Metropolitan Magistrate Ripon Hossain issued the remand order after Inspector Firoz Uddin of the Tongi River Police station produced Disha in court, seeking seven days for detailed interrogation.
Investigators arrested Disha during a late-night raid in Dhaka's Kafrul area around 2:00 AM on Sunday. According to law enforcement, CCTV footage retrieved from the night of October 27 shows Disha meeting Tahsif at a restaurant in Uttara.
The two were subsequently seen traveling together to multiple locations and exchanging several phone calls.
Police sought her custody to cross-examine her statements against details provided by Tahsif’s junior associate, Ahmed Shahriar Reza Dwip, who was placed on a separate four-day remand on Saturday.

Conflicting Claims and Investigation Focus
The Disappearance: Tahsif left his family residence in Uttara Sector 18 on the evening of October 27 after receiving a call from Dwip.
At 1:35 AM, he sent a voice note to his mother via Messenger confirming he was returning home. He subsequently went missing, and his phone went unanswered. Body & Motorcycle Recovered: River police retrieved Tahsif’s floating body from the Turag River near Rajbari Ghat in Uttarkhan on the afternoon of October 28. Investigators later recovered an unnumbered motorcycle matching Tahsif’s vehicle in a slum area about 50 yards from the riverbank.
Associate Claims Chase: During initial interrogation by the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), Dwip claimed that while he and Tahsif were talking near the ghat, a group of individuals claiming to be law enforcement personnel suddenly chased them. Dwip alleged Tahsif jumped into the river to escape while he fled.
Family Rejects Accidental Drowning: Tahsif’s father, AKM Enayetul Karim, strongly rejected claims of suicide or accidental drowning.
Highlighting that his son was a trained Air Force pilot and skilled swimmer, Karim filed a formal murder case against unidentified individuals at Uttarkhan Police Station.
The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) and River Police are currently conducting joint interrogations of both Dwip and Disha to establish the exact sequence of events leading to the former officer's death.
