Trump Rejects Israeli Plan to Assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader

Former US President Donald Trump is said to have rejected an Israeli proposal to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to three US officials.
The officials claim Trump told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that targeting Khamenei was “not a good idea.” While Trump has not made any public comments on the matter, the conversation is believed to have taken place after Israel launched its military assault on Iran on Friday.
In a recent interview with Fox News, Netanyahu was asked about a Reuters report suggesting Trump had blocked the plan. He neither confirmed nor denied the claim.
The exchange comes amid escalating violence between the two countries. Since Friday, Israel has struck Iranian nuclear facilities and military sites, while Iran has responded with heavy missile and drone attacks. The conflict has now entered its third day with no sign of easing.
