Starlink Launches in Bangladesh: Subscribers Can Order Internet Packages Starting Today

Satellite-based internet provider Starlink has officially launched its services in Bangladesh, with local customers now able to place orders for its internet packages starting today, Tuesday.
Starlink is offering two packages at launch—Starlink Residential and Residential Lite.
The Residential package is priced at BDT 6,000 per month, while the Lite version costs BDT 4,200 monthly.
Additionally, users must pay a one-time setup fee of BDT 47,000 for the necessary equipment.
Faez Ahmad Tayyeb, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Posts, Telecommunications, and ICT Affairs, confirmed the launch in a verified Facebook post.
According to him, Starlink personally informed him of the development on Monday afternoon.
The company has also posted the announcement on its official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Starlink’s service comes with no speed or data limits, offering unlimited data with speeds of up to 300 Mbps.
Though relatively expensive, Faez Ahmad noted that Starlink provides a sustainable solution for premium customers seeking high-speed, reliable internet access.
He added that Starlink could significantly benefit underserved regions where fiber or high-speed internet has yet to reach.
It is also expected to support NGOs, freelancers, and entrepreneurs by ensuring year-round uninterrupted high-speed connectivity.
Starlink, the American Non-Geostationary Satellite Orbit (NGSO) internet service provider, has been granted a license to operate in Bangladesh, following approval from Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus. The licensing approval was finalized on April last.
The move comes after the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) issued guidelines on March 25 titled "Non-Geostationary Orbit (NGSO) Satellite Services Operator in Bangladesh."
