Melania Trump Hosts Global Summit on Children, Education, and Technology
Melania Trump convened leaders, spouses of world leaders, and technology executives from over 40 countries in Washington, D.C., to discuss strategies for improving education and technological access for children worldwide.
The two-day summit is part of her Fostering the Future Together initiative, launched last year to promote global collaboration in child development.
Speaking at the opening session, Trump urged nations to strengthen partnerships, conduct research, and implement programs aimed at equipping young people with skills needed in an evolving digital world.
“As people we dream. As leaders we progress. As nations we will build,” she said. She encouraged participants to develop region-specific strategies, advocate for supportive education policies, and sponsor technology-focused legislation to empower children.
The summit included representatives from Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Technology companies such as Microsoft"], Google and OpenAI also participated in private sessions, sharing tools and solutions to enhance learning and digital safety.
Among the participants were Olena Zelenska and Sara Netanyahu. Zelenska highlighted Ukraine’s efforts to integrate AI into its education system, emphasizing that “education is no longer one size fits all.” Meanwhile, Netanyahu stressed that children need adult guidance to safely navigate online spaces.
The Fostering the Future Together initiative aims to ensure that every child can thrive in the digital era. Trump has also been involved in humanitarian efforts, including reuniting children separated from their families due to the conflict in Ukraine.
The summit will continue with discussions on artificial intelligence in education, digital literacy, online safety, and innovative technology tools for classrooms, culminating in a White House roundtable later this week.
