Massive Joint Assault: Iran and Hezbollah Launch Hundreds of Missiles and Rockets at Northern Israel
Northern Israel came under a heavy barrage of fire on Wednesday night as Iran and Hezbollah launched a coordinated offensive involving hundreds of rockets, missiles, and explosive drones.
The escalation has sent thousands of residents into bomb shelters and prompted the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to issue urgent evacuation orders for parts of Beirut.
Direct Hits and Casualties in the North
According to emergency responders from United Hatzalah, at least five people were injured when a rocket struck a home in the Upper Galilee.
Among the victims, one person suffered a hand injury from flying debris, while four others were treated for severe shock and anxiety. Firefighters were forced to cut power to the area to prevent a major blaze following the impact.
The IDF reported that Hezbollah fired approximately 150 projectiles in several waves over the course of the evening.
IDF Strikes Back in Beirut
In response to the onslaught, the IDF has launched a series of retaliatory strikes. Col. (res.) Avichay Adraee, the IDF's Arabic-language spokesperson, issued an immediate warning to residents of Dahiyeh—a Hezbollah stronghold in southern Beirut—to evacuate their homes ahead of incoming airstrikes.
Israeli officials indicated to The Jerusalem Post that they are now considering targeting civilian infrastructure in Lebanon that supports Hezbollah’s operations.
"We are preparing for a potential expansion of these launches," an official stated, though they cautioned that some reports of the scale of the threat had been exaggerated.
Regional Conflict Intensifies
The violence is not limited to the Lebanese border. Sirens also blared across Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Central Israel following missile launches originating directly from Iran.
International developments have added to the tension:
US Involvement: Reports indicate that U.S. forces have destroyed over 5,000 Iranian targets since the beginning of Operation Epic Fury, a campaign aimed at neutralizing regional threats.
Political Rhetoric: President Donald Trump weighed in on the escalation, claiming that the repeated strikes have left "little left" of Iran's military capabilities.
Emergency Response on High Alert
The IDF’s Search and Rescue Brigade, alongside Magen David Adom and the Fire and Rescue Authority, have deployed teams across northern Israel.
Residents in the north remain under strict orders to stay in close proximity to fortified rooms as the threat of drone incursions from Lebanon continues.
