Gunfire Near Rihanna’s Mansion: Suspect Arrested Within 30 Minutes
A shocking incident unfolded outside the luxury home of global pop superstar Rihanna after a woman allegedly fired several gunshots toward the property on Sunday afternoon. Authorities acted quickly and arrested the suspect within half an hour, preventing what could have been a much more serious tragedy.
Shooting Incident Shocks Quiet Neighborhood
According to law enforcement officials, the shooting took place around 1:15 p.m. on March 8 outside the Beverly Hills residence where Rihanna lives with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their children
Investigators say the suspect, 35-year-old Ivana Lisette Ortiz from Florida, arrived in a white Tesla and allegedly fired multiple shots toward the gated property. One bullet reportedly pierced a wall while others struck the gate and an RV parked outside the residence.
Fortunately, no one inside the house was injured during the incident.
Police Capture Suspect After Brief Manhunt
The Los Angeles Police Department quickly launched a search after the gunfire was reported. Officers tracked the suspect’s vehicle as it fled the area along Coldwater Canyon Drive.
Within roughly 30 minutes, police located the Tesla at a shopping center in Sherman Oaks and took Ortiz into custody. Authorities later said they recovered an assault rifle and several shell casings from the vehicle.
Prosecutors from the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office confirmed the suspect now faces serious charges including attempted murder, multiple counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, and shooting at an inhabited dwelling. District Attorney Nathan Hochman stated that if convicted, Ortiz could face life in prison. Bail has been set at approximately $1.9 million.
Rihanna and Family Safe
At the time of the shooting, Rihanna, A$AP Rocky and their children — RZA, Riot and Rocki — were reportedly inside the home but unharmed.
The dramatic incident has left the normally quiet Beverly Hills neighborhood shaken, though the swift police response ensured the situation was quickly brought under control.
