China opens Green Channel for Bangladeshi medical visa applications

The Embassy of China in Bangladesh has launched a "Green Channel" for medical treatment visas, aiming to enhance public health cooperation and facilitate travel between China and Bangladesh.
The move follows the consensus reached during Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus’s visit to China in March.
The new visa facilitation measures include simplified documentation, fast-track services, and a streamlined interview process for Bangladeshi citizens seeking medical care in China.
Simplified Requirements: Bangladeshi travel agencies with valid business licenses can now issue guarantee letters for applicants, exempting them from obtaining bank deposit certificates and proof of kinship verified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Fast-Track Visa Services: The Chinese Embassy and its Visa Application Service Center in Dhaka (Praasad Trade Center, Banani) have introduced dedicated hotlines and a WhatsApp group for medical visa inquiries. Online applications will receive immediate attention, and a special counter at the Visa Center allows for walk-in submissions without waiting. Urgent cases can receive same-day visa issuance.
Priority Interviews and Remote Access: Applicants with appointments will receive priority interviews without queueing. In cases where travel is medically inadvisable, travel agency-issued guarantee letters can authorize remote interviews.
The Embassy encourages more Bangladeshi citizens to seek healthcare in China, highlighting the advanced capabilities of Chinese hospitals in treating international patients.
Travel agencies are free to partner with any Chinese medical institution and assist with the necessary documentation.
